Capitol Hill Classic SUCCESS!!!

Congratulations to each and every Metro American player and family member that took part in hosting the 4th annual Capitol Hill Classic. The support and dedication from Metro coaches, players, and parents, from the beginning stages of set up early last week, to the incredible tear down effort on Monday, were truly impressive.

This historic event is now the largest volleyball tournament in the country on President's Day weekend - thanks to you!!!

A special congratulations to Katie Skolnik (15Travel), chosen as "Best Passer" in the 15's age group.

Metro Alumni Defeat 18 Travel in Annual Alumni Match

Alunmni27_small

Metro American 18 Travel succumbed to their elders in the annual alumni match on Sunday, December 27, at Model School for the Deaf on the campus of Gallaudet University, in a spirited, five-set test of wills.  In their initial outing of the season, 18Travel dominated the Metro alumni in the first two sets, jumping out in front early and never looking back.  The veterans managed to turn things around beginning with the third set, however, as their experience began to show and the 18's committed a few more errors than they had earlier in the match.  Although they fought back after falling behind in each of the final three sets, the 18's were unable to overcome the final deficit as the alumni garnered bragging rights for the next twelve months.  Happy New Year and thank you to all of the alumni for returning to help get the team ready for the 2010 campaign!
