Amber Coleman-Mortley is in her first year with Metro American Volleyball Club. She will be assisting Julia with the 13 Central team. Amber is also currently the Varsity and Middle School Volleyball coach, and Middle School girls track and field coach at Sidwell Friends School.
Amber began her volleyball career at Maple Heights High School where she was the varsity setter for 3 years. She was the Career and Season assists leader, All League for 2 years and District 2nd Team for 1 year.
Amber then went on to play volleyball for Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio where she earned NCAC All Conference honors all 3 of the years she competed. Even more impressive, though, is that she also competed in Basketball, earning All Conference honors, and in Track and Field, earning All Conference honors and a NCAA Division 3 appearance in the 4x100 meter relay. Amber earned her B.A. in African American Studies with concentrations in history and art and a minor in art.
Amber is currently in her 6th year as the PE teacher at Sidwell friends. She is married to Brent and has two daughters, Garvey and Naima. In her free time she likes to go to the park, hang out with her daughters, read, watch volleyball, take road trips, listen to music, and sleep!
